Treasure

drawing of niffler within a suitcase filled with treasure

I was sharing with a dear friend a difficult situation I was processing. We were talking about Old Stories, and how appreciative it is to have been navigating from New Stories for some time now.

And then I brought up a very old story of mine in comparison, which had specific similarities to what I was going through now. The focus of our conversation was on the amazing personal growth from then til now.

And then I said, “Geez, that was twenty years ago, and I haven’t even thought of it in a very long time. Wow, you’d think I’d finally get to a point where it just doesn’t even come up anymore?!?”

Her immediate response:

You don’t give your experiences away.

Holy. Wow.

I had been thinking that when a difficult memory resurfaced, it meant I was still clinging to it. That I obviously must have more work to do around it. I believe now that I can view it gently held in an open palm. That it means I am observing it with no bitter, only sweet. Truly seeing myself.

So much value, here.

Thank you.

And the balance shifts

This time of year invites us to create harmony and beauty out of life’s endless contradictions. To find the peace and stillness within the eye of the storm.

“Life’s endless contradictions” really struck me. The balance we seek isn’t actually to make our storms stop. It’s to help us in how we feel as we experience them.

Finding balance isn’t about resolving the issue. It’s about navigating it in a healthier, more mindful way.

The attention shifts from my situation to my wellness, no matter the situation.

Harmony.

Like mustard, or ranch dressing

You know when you feel amazing, and everything is just working? Like you exude ease and joy, within all that productivity?

Yeah. That’s it.

That secret sauce goes with everything.
